Description of internship (duties, hours, population served): *
Outpatient Services: primarily individual therapy/ counseling with some group opportunities. Complete initial assessments and treatment plans using the state tool (IM+CANS). Interns will have the opportunity to build their own caseload. Crisis Services: Answer calls to the crisis line and National Suicide Prevention Hotline. Conduct in-person crisis assessments and provide support to clients in Crisis Respite. Supervision provided by staff who possess a clinical license (LCSW or LCPC).Population served: Individuals with severe mental illness. Health Dept. hours are Monday-Friday 8-4:30pm.
Prerequisites required for intern:
Current student pursuing a Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology or related field with a Bachelor's degree in a similar field. Student should be in 2nd year of program.
