Description of internship (duties, hours, population served): *
Population is ages 3 - 18 years old. We work with local DCFS and Law Enforcement in open child abuse cases, we offer forensic interviews, counseling, advocacy and medicals for the victims. Internship duties would be front duties, assisting in advocacy with families, intakes and follow up calls. Depending on experience and level of internship, possible counseling clients (1-3 clients total).
Prerequisites required for intern:
DCFS background check and fingerprinting

Is there anything else you would want a student to know about this internship opportunity?
We work with a traumatic population and we require an intern to understand and follow the importance of confidentiality, support and a understanding of working with victims. Working with local DCFS, Law Enforcement and States Attorney office we require professionalism. Experience in trauma work is a plus!
