Field Instruction is considered the signature pedagogy to social work education; it is a curricular requirement for all students seeking degrees or certifications within the program. The purpose of field instruction is to provide students the opportunity to acquire the skills necessary to function in a practice setting. Your field II experience is designed to build transferable skills in engagement, case management, counseling, group facilitation, documentation and referral. The 10 Core Competencies of Social Work Practice are measured at the middle and end of the internship experience.
