This course focuses on the tools and techniques used to assess the English language proficiency and academic development of English learners (ELs) in bilingual and English-only settings. Participants will examine the assessment issues that affect ELs and types of assessments used to identify, place and reclassify ELs. Participants will also learn how to use content and language proficiency standards to create assessments for ELs. (Includes clinical experience)
